How long is a prescription note good for?

Got a prescription for something from my doctor about a month ago. I didn't bother filling the prescription, since it was for something minor. If I do decide later on that I want to use that prescription, can I do that?

I am wondering the same thing. I've got a vicadin prescription from a few weeks ago.

It varies from state to state and it depends on if it's a controlled drug or not. Some prescriptions are only good for a week, others are good for a month, most are good for a year, but that is in IL.

Your pharmacist will be able to tell you.

i think it depends. control substances will be more strict. i asked the girl at the pharmacy a couple days ago and despite the fact that my dcotor said 72 hours she said 1 month.
i just drop off my slips with them and call up when i need them filled.
