Too long! I've done a lot of semesters, but I really liked quarters. They were over quickly and you can move on to something else.

Goes by extremely quickly when you are busy!!

edit: Summer classes are absurd. Summer is split into two tracks, so each class is only 6 weeks long, and they cover the exact same material as the 14 week ones. It's tough having more than like ~6 credits per track in the summer, moreso if you need to work during that time.

I was answering the first question. I don't really hear "college term" ever used, but personally I would think of it as synomynous (sp?) with a semester.

Generally, yes. Unless a "term" is a trimester or other division of time. A semester here is about 16 weeks. They're also called Fall and Spring terms - that's why our exams in the middle two months are generally called "midterms"

Semester is 15 to 18 weeks, trimester 8 to 12 weeks. (terms are shorter usually 10 weeks or so, but arent really used anymore, afaik).
