There are full range of differences:

*growing up together as friends, in and out of each other's life then marriage
*steady relationship for couple years then marriage
*my parents got married after one year.

It's good to take time to get to know each other but when you start getting up there in age it's best not to wait too long or you risk becoming the "dearly departed" :D

And still whining publicly about the kevlar underwear when she's gone.

Sounds like you got a good deal.

Met my wife at the end of August and we were married the following April. After meeting our initial "dating" took place via snail mail since she lived in Montreal and I lived in Virginia. There were a lot of folks that thought our marriage would not last since we got married so quickly but it has lasted 17 years to date. :)

LOL Nope.

Actually I didn't turn into a Ferengi until 1999 when I joined the cult, so I was normal for 3 years while she knew me.

Now she rolls her eyes whenever I say, come on hon we gotta go to Staples, OfficeMax, OfficeDepot AND CostCo!

I've been with my girl for almost a year now. Too young to get married.

My parents dated for 3 months before they got engaged, were married after 11 months.

Dating Thumper for 7 months now, in 4 months plan to ask her to move in with me (her lease is up then)...

If in another year or so we're still together, I'll ask her to marry me. :)

(don't anyone tell her, ok?) :D

Wow! Did I already say, that's pretty fast! Damn! LOL!

Well, speaking of marriage . . . I dated my man for like 3 years and then we got married. GeeZ! I'm just kidding.

The thought of marriage freaks me out. It won't be happening anytime soon. It sounds exciting at first, but it sends a chill down my spine when I think of commitment for the rest of my life. Unlike a typical woman, I'm afraid my man would be begging me to marry him, not I begging him. I'm sure things will eventually change. Maybe as I grow older my perspective will start to change, but it ain't happening anytime soon.
