My current uptime is 8 days, 13 hrs, 23 mins, 47 secs. But, that's just the last time I rebooted. I haven't turned off my computer in over a month since the holiday break.

5 minutes or so. :)

Sometimes I'll turn it off during the night, other times I'll leave it on, depending on my network activity :)

My work computer that I am posting from right now, has been logged on since 2/5/2002 at 12:00PM. I think that was for a reboot to install a web cam with a capture card. This is on Windows 2000.

Our Windows NT 4.0 Workstation that acts as a file server, has been up since 12/22/01 at 12:42PM. And our Windows NT Server machine that is a file server, as well as running SQL Server, has been up since 12/4/01 at 1:23PM. I think those reboots were to add ram to each, they would be up longer. That's pretty good.

Emachine on Win2K: Can't stay on for more than 30 minutes.

That's cheating a little. I was kind of surprised that all of our other UNIX systems have been down recently for one reason or another. My server at home has only been up a couple of days as well. It is freshly rebuilt and I'm still working the kinks out of it. Not sure about my work PC. I think I had to reboot it earlier this week. It's Win 98SE and after a couple of weeks it just has to be rebooted.

I had a Linux server used solely for packet forwarding/ip masq. Anyway, over the course of several weeks the HD started making strange grinding noises. I would power it off and let it sit for a while and when booted, it would be fine for a while. One time I was listening to the grinding and it got really bad. So bad, in fact, that I heard the HD stop and spin down. I opened the and sure enough, the HD was stopped!!! Anyway, I tested it and it was still forwarding packets. So I told my roommates never to power down the Linux box because I didn't think it would come back up.

When I had to leave school for the summer, I had to power it down. It had been running for over 100 days w/o a working HD. Everything was in RAM, and it was fine. When I plugged it in again, the HD didn't work.

So the long answer to the question was over 100 days w/o a reboot.
