How long has WMP 10 been around?

maybe cuz there are better players around. i downloaded it just for the hell of it, and i fail to see what it offers over better players that have been around for longer (i.e. mpc, zoomplayer, bsplayer, gomplayer, foobar2000)

Foobar2000 is great for music and media player classic is great for video. Media Player 10 is bloated superware with some nice features but Foobar is so much lighter and easier to organize playlist.

Hell Media Player 6.4 is installed with Media Player 10 and I usually use that for video's instead.

Foobar2000 = 4.1 megs usage
Media Player 6.4 = 3.8 megs usage
Media Player 10 = 12.9 megs usage

Don't have Media Player Classic installed right now.

:thumbsup:

i believe i made a post about a public beta available somewhere around 1.5 months ago...came out soon after

Media Player Classic v6.4.8.2
Media Player Classic is an extremely light-weight media player for Windows. It looks just like the good-old Media Player v6.4, but has lots of nice extra features.

MPC has, for instance, a built in DVD player with real-time zoom, support for AVI subtitles, QuickTime and RealVideo support (requires QT and/or Real player), and lots more.

Definitely a great replacement for the huge and clumsy Microsoft Media Players.

Did you know that all Windows distributions still include the old Media Player v6.4? You can run it by clicking Start, Run and entering MPLAYER2.EXE

This software is for Windows 2000/XP only! You can download Windows 9x version from the software homepage.

i installd it. i use it with the classic skin so i dont seen any ofthe fancy crap, i actually watch most videos inWMP because its the easyestthing to use, i used to watch everything in winamp 5 but igot dired of deleteing my plalist and then rloading it when i wanted to watch videos

is there a way to sort the files by folder name or location? all my music files are organized that way and when i try to play them with wmp everything is in random order. is there any other way other than making my own playlists?

EDIT : nvm, i figured it out. much better now 🙂
