How long for the new stuff?

Does anyone have an estimate of when it will be possible to build systems using a new socket (939 or 775) as well as PCI-Express on the motherboard? It always seems to be right around the corner to me, but we don't seem to be getting any closer to the corner. I expect the answers will be different for 939 and 775. Will 939 be first?

Thanks, and please don't flame me.

Yes, basically it will take forever.

I believe a full system, with 939, dual channel, PCIe, with the video card will probably not be possible (actual retail products) till the fall. Everyone seems to be taking their sweet little time.

gonna be an expensive year for hardware....but now that I think about it, I dropped 4g's last year, so maybe it will only be another 4 this year 🙂

Will I actually be able to build systems with PCI-Express on those 6/1 and 6/21 dates? Or will I have to wait longer for mobos and possibly even for processors to be available?

Thanks again. Sorry about not searching.

I'm thinking in limited quantities they would be available. Honestly, I'm not sure. If one of the Anantech people (Kristopher?) knows, maybe he'll respond to this. I'm with you, I'm waiting on these motherboards.

BTW... These boards probably won't be Nvidia's .... I'm thinking they will be VIA (based on their roadmap).
