Thats the question.. Reson being, the system I built is a duron 600 and it's for my Father, and he won't want an overclocked system. So, If I just leave the pencil marks on there and leave it set at 600 will there ever be a problem? or should I go through the effort of erasing them? also, if he, by some chance in a million decides he want's to overclock it how long will the pencil traces last?

I penciled my Duron 600 back in late September, and my system is still rock solid stable running at 800 MHz. The theory that the pencil trick isn't as stable as using a conductive pen or the defogger kit is nonsense. Just make sure the lead is HB (No.2 pencil) quality or better.

I have a few friends that have used pencil trick once since August.. Still stable. Just make sure that it's done fairly heavy and accurately.
