How long does the pencil trick to unlock athlons last?

I unlocked my 1ghz tbird(200fsb) so that I can run it at (7.5 x 133). WinXP seems a little faster........

Anyways I've read around here that people had to re-draw the connections on the L1 bridge after about a few months?? Is that true?
 
My Tbird 800 started acting funny after 3 months, not sure if it was the pencil marks wearing off or what. By funny I mean random lockups and rebooting. I finally went out and got a conductive pen and fixed it right up, been running fine for 9 months like that now.
