How long does the graphite last on my unlocked Duron?

I connected the bridges on my Duron, and it has been running at 950 for two months now. I am wonder how long it will remain unlocked before I have to reconnect it.

They are all not the same some people say they have had to redue after 2 weeks and some have had no problems for months. so who knows???

It really depends. Some people have problems the day after (like myself), some after several weeks. Some never experience problems. Probably depends on both the workmanship and the graphite that you use.

HB (same as #2)
too hard = not enough graphite on the core (doesnt go on)
too soft = graphite is too soft and gets blown off

when you guys redo the pencil trick, you removed the HSF right??

do you guys reapply the thermal grease or artic silver??

heng1028,
Yes, you need to remove the HSF in order to pencil in the bridges (since the bridges are on the topside of the CPU, under the HSF). You do not *need* to reapply the thermal grease afterwards, but it is definitely a good idea.
