how long does the batteries on your cordless keyboard last?

i have a microsoft cordless keyboard and the batteries only last for about 3-4 weeks.
Then it starts acting crazy and types every letter i press twice.

is this a prob with my keyboard? or is it a common prob with bad batteries?

I've probably been going about 3-4 months now without having to recharge my batteries. I'm using a Logitech Cordless freedom Pro keyboard and mouse.

If you find your batteries running out fast, I suggest you do what I do: buy a Ray-O-Vac 1 hour NiMH charger. I figured, I'd probably have to change my batteries pretty often when I first got my keyboard. The batteries last forever since they're NiMH and you can charge them when you go to sleep/go to school/got to work etc. They will automatically shut off when they're done charging, and if you're in a real rush, they only take an hour to charge.

2 months at least. Using NiMH 1600mAh for normal usage, with a backup set of alakline AA's.

i do have some NiMH batteries, but i guess mine are weak. i got them awhile back, and they are only 1500mAh.
But I just bought a 48 pack of alkalines at costco, so it's pointless for me to buy some chargeables now. I hope that they last for 4 months...

anyone using a microsoft keyboard care to tell me how long your batteries last?

IIRC, the repeating letters are a feature that let you know the batteries are low. Seriously.

is there any way to turn off the repeating letters then? it's really annoying. stupid microsoft... why couldn't they have just made a low battery indicator on the base or something.
