How long does shipping take from Canada to the US?

I bought something that could not be found at a US online store. Any estimate on how long it gets held through customs? They said it'll take roughly five days IF it does not get held up at customs.

Anyone ever order from Canada before?

I've sent stuff to Canada via USPS --> Canadian Post. The package took about 8 days to make it there.
