How long does Norton Virus Scanner Take?

I use 3 Virus Programs AVG, System Suite(Trend), and Norton. They do not conflict at all and one sometimes catches a Virus the other one doesn't maybe due to updates. When I deep Scan about 60 Gigs+ with AVG and Trend it takes an hr or so but with Norton it's in it's 15th hour and hasn't past C:\Programs\JAVA\ yet but still walking along. My question is how long does it take you all? Norton always takes over a day for me to Scan

I have norton set to run once per week in the middle of the night. The logs show scan completed between 40-45mins every time (going back thru 3 months or so). Dunno if the logs are accurate, but I have it to begin in 2am and when I wake up before 6, it's never been running.

HDD is a WD 80gb 8mb that has about 20gb free.
System is an xp1700+ @2.25ghz.

I also have NAV on another machine, but can't check the logs at the moment. Set to run at the same time, but it's checking 2 HDDs (26gb WD and 6gb... both pretty much maxed out but they're slower 5400rpms with 2mb caches). That rig is slower as well.... a 1.4ghz celeron.

When I can check the logs on it, I'll edit the post.

I've used Norton in it's various forms since the good ole DOS days, and never had a scan take anywhere near 24 hours, I don't remember exactly how long it used to take on the old 420 megger, but as far back as I can remember, it's always taken around 60 minutes on avarge sized HD's(for the time), give or take 30 minutes depending on other conditions.

Thanks for the responses...somethings up cause I'm on file 38,1250 after all this time and running 2 Raptors in RAID @ 2+GHz with 1Gig of RAM...It 's dog slow scanning JAVA.Hm maybe I'll email them cause it's always this way

I've never had Norton take more than a couple of hours - and that's with about 50,000 files on some old 40 GB 5400 rpm drive.

P3 866 with 2 seagate hdd's 80 Gb each...
Last time I did a system scan (last week) it took about 1:15 hr.
