I just read the manual and it says 8-12 hours before putting in food in it. I hope that isnt the case🙁

why would it not be the case when the manual says so?

It's not the case.

Actually if you put cold food in it, it will chill faster.

I just bought a new fridge and the installers told me to put my food back in as soon as I could.

Ditto with the numerous fridges I've helped replace. We try to get the food out of the old fridge and into the new one as quickly as possible, and get the new one running... that will cool it down quite quickly.

Bags of ice help too.

I put my food in my fridge as soon as I got it cleaned up and plugged in.

I figured it was as good a place to store the food as any other, and the food might as well be in there just in case it chilled in 2 hours (rather than the 2.3 hours specified by the manual).
