One of the most frustrating things about going to a lan party is the amount of time it takes to set everything up before you can start playing games. Connecting all the cables is the easy part and it ussually doesn't take long to string cable all aroung the room or through out the house. The problems always arise when people start realizing they don't have their computers configured correctly, they are missing patches for games, or even forgot to bring the game everyone else wants to play. The list goes on and on. You all know what I am talking about.
I have been to some that have taken up to 3 hours or more to get all 8 guys ready to play. I have never started in under an hour. What are other peoples experiences? Is there such a thing as a show up, hook up the cables and go type lan party. You never have the same people come it seems, so just leaving everything configured the same doesn't always work.
