How long does it take you to get from home to work/school (door-to-door)?

It used to take me close to an hour and a half on the bus, but now door-to-door is only 30-45 mins between home and school for me, and the actual drive is 20-30 mins (the rest of the time parking and walking). It's 25km or about 16 miles.

Okay this thread needs WAY more responses. THe poll's kinda meaningless with 1/2 responses per option. Comeon, I spent 5 mins creating that poll! ;)

It takes anywhere from 30 seconds to 6 hours for me to get to work. I never know until I get up in the morning and check my email where I am going or what I will be doing. It might be a job that takes 30 minutes or two weeks.

3.5-4.5 hours by car for me to get from home to school depending upon traffic and police coverage. Of course, 90% of the time I'm at the dorms on campus instead of at home, and my farthest class is about a two minute walk from my dorm.

1 hour and 45 in the morning to get to class, and 2 hours to get home, every day of the damn week. My classes go from 8 am to 7 pm most of the week too...bleck.

Hmmm. About 15 minutes. I try and scale 7 miles in rush hour traffic in a time frame where 1 red light could screw me over, so I try to time my approach to hit every green light or a light cycle that's about to turn green.

Meh, from the travel times most of you are posting you guys have no right to b!tch about traffic. A car is still the fastest way (in NA cities) except in maybe NYC ;)

I remember when going to work in the summer would take 2 hours to some locations, and that included a lot of walking too because the bus stop is like half a mile away. It was even worse during christmas breaks, having to walk over highway overpasses, and all that wind...
I think someone needs to invent a better form of public transit for these areas because buses suck.
