How long does it take you to drive to work?

Just curious, you know. This is a real problem for me since I live quite far away from where I work.

I live 5 miles from work.

On a good day, from front door to garage I'd say 20 minutes.

And this brings up a very intresting question... Did those who live so close to work move exclusively to be closer or not? I'm thinking about this. Has anyone done this?

I've thought about that. Either this year or next year I'll probably move back to the loan center which is far far away, at least 1.25 hours commute each way public transportation. So I might move to the other side of Portland although I'm not really crazy about it.

About 45 minutes. My stereo broke a week ago, and it's been driving me nuts driving 45 minutes with no sound. New one coming this wednesday.

I'm willing to put up with my longer commute times to enjoy the peace and quiet of the country.

I love my neighborhood and it just so happened that the job I got about 2 months ago is 1.2 miles from my apartment. :)

About 20 minutes. Half that on the way home because I work late and can use the interstate with no traffic.

I live less than 2 miles from where I work, but because of the dang traffic lights, it takes me about 15 minutes to get to work. Altho, one of my previous jobs was 20 miles way but it only took me 20 minutes to get there on the interstate.

I might move a little bit closer in if I had a bit more money, if I knew I was going to be at this job for a good long while (and I hope to be) and if I wanted to deal with the hassle of moving again. But with the exception of driving to my office, pretty much everything I could need or want is within a 2-10 mile (15 minute drive) radius of my house. My office is a 22 mile drive from my house. It takes me about 20 minutes to get there in the morning and 25-35 minutes to get home on the average day. If I could somehow magically make the evening commute as smooth as the morning commute then I'd be quite happy.

I drive about 15 minutes to a park&ride, then take a bus into downtown Seattle - Total commute, 30 mins. If there's light traffic, I can drive straight there in about 20 mins. I live about 15 miles from work.

11 miles--- Lynn Haven, Florida -> Tyndall AFB, Florida

45 minutes! I do not live in the city!

It is the geriatric population and the fact I drive through no less than 11 police districts to get to work. Each distrcit sits and waits for be to break the 35MPH speed limit on the divided 4 lane highway (old people have crappy reaction time, so they lobby to lower speed limits)

The only place I have seen worse stoplight density is Okinawa.

We spent many dollars making signs saying "Slower traffic, keep right" Disobeying should be punishable by death.

15-20 mins with no traffic...30-40 with traffic. No idea about snow...but I'll probably find out in a few weeks ;)

I deliberately moved farther away from work because I couldn't get cable internet near there!
