How long does it take usually for Dell to ship?

I recently got a laptop from Dell. Right now it's at the "boxing" stage of the "in production" phase. I don't think shipping it out would take very long at this point, but the shipping estimate says July 25. That's 17 days from now!

For those of you that ordered from Dell before, what were your experiences? Does it really take that long for them to ship after the system is built and tested?

It takes a while due to it being put together in Taiwan or the Phillipines. They then ship it to the US to get it ready for shipment to your door step.

Yep, that's that way it works 😉 Same for Gateway (unless you stop by one of their Country Stores 😀 )

dell latops are made in malaysia. boxing means its on a plane over the pacific enroute to a port of entry, usually near you.

fedex can ship around the world overnight, i don't know why they can't just do that instead.

Sometimes they'll delay it even further... and sometimes you'll recieve what you ordered days before it was scheduled too. Depends on what you ordered

Ive ordered from Dell a whole lotta times, eveytime the ordrs came within 2 weeks of order date. They always say they will ship it like a month or even longer from ur order date, but that doesnt really happen unless they dont have it on stock. You;ll see what I mean, just check ur status a few days later

When I ordered my laptop from Dell it took eight days (including weekends) till my laptop arrived. I got it before it's estimated ship date. Dell's estimated ship dates are way off.

Depends on what's in stock ... can take 5 days to 4 weeks.

it fluxuates a lot, i heard people had good experiences other people waited months, one guy got his computer for free it too them so long. as with any business stuff goes wrong
