How long does it take to learn HTML5?

well i am just learning visual basic and i know the basics.

just pick up the book "HTML5 in 21 days for dummies"

My advice to you is take few days and briefly learn HTML4, and then go to HTML5 because, if you are noob, like you said, total time will be shorter than only for HTML5.
