And I guess all the teen driving bashers are asleep?
You'll get bashed when you get into your first accident in 2 weeks, without insurance.Originally posted by: ArJuN

Trust me, there will be more than enough oppurtunity to drive and believe me when I say the novelty wears off really fast.

I disagree...I still love driving. Guess it depends on the person.

There we go. I get one of my parents cars, maybe two, cause they don't drive one of them.
EDIT: Not to own, they are still theirs, just to drive.

One phone call and 15 minutes.

So I'm 17. And I'm hopefully getting my drivers license this monday. Well, atleast I'm taking my road test, and if I pass I get it. I obviously need insurance though, and my parents said they would add me to their plan tomorrow. But I am really eager to drive, so does anyone know how long it usually takes? Do I have to wait in the mail to get those insurance cards and crap?

What do they drive?
Sedans/SUVs, the usual.

I remember you from Xbox-Scene. Don't worry about it, it took me a day to get covered. I just got my license about a month, maybe a bit more ago.
Hey man, how you been? Xbox-Scene is down right now. lol. What are you driving?

I know it's exciting to get your license (I know I was excited) but try to keep it in your pants. Trust me, there will be more than enough oppurtunity to drive and believe me when I say the novelty wears off really fast. Anyhow, I was originally added to my parents plan when I got my license and it took like 3 days to get valid coverage.
EDIT: There are TWO forms of insurance you must have to legally drive: One for the driver and one for the vehicle. If you don't have your own car, then you only need insurance on the driver right now, since your parent's car(s) are already insured.

Not sure what the laws are where you live, but in MOST states, you DON'T insure the driver, only the vehicle, BUT, your insurance can follow you if you drive rental cars and such...Having 2 separate policies would suck...fvcking insurance is already xpendy enough...

SUVs are the worst after you've been driving a small car for a long time. I'm used to driving my little 2-Door Cavalier and I drive my mom's GMC to the dealer for inspection... it was like driving a bus.![]()
