How long does it take to get a car's A/C serviced?

I'm doing a 10 hour drive tomorrow. I let my dad drive my car for the past few months and I just found out the A/C is cutting out on long drives. After about 2-4 hours of driving, the A/C starts blowing out hot air. I'm hoping it just needs new freon???

I want to take the car to get the A/C looked at tomorrow morning. Everything is closed right now so I can't call to ask.

Am I gonna need to drop off the car? Or is this 1 hour while I wait kinda thing?

Is it actually blowing out hot hot air, like if it was set to Heat, or is it just blowing non-cool air (outside temp)? Do you hear any noises when it cuts out, like gurgling or clicks?

I think its blowing out hot air, like it was set to heat. It could just be the 100 degree heat off the asphalt too.

The first time it happened, the engine was getting hot too so I thought the two were connected. I got the radiator flushed and the engine no longer heats up, but the A/C still doesn't work.

Try recharging it yourself. Takes just a few minutes with a kit you can get just about anywhere.

I figured, but I'd like to get it looked at by someone who knows what they are doing in case that isn't the right solution. If I recharge it myself, I won't know it worked or not unless the A/C cuts out 300 miles into my trip.
