How long does it take to box a damn system

tm37

Lifer
Dell has this really cool feature on the order tracking page that allows you to see where the system is now in real time and low and behold my system is in boxing for over a day now.

Took them lest than a day to KIT, build, and then test the system. NOt it is waiting for a damn box.

Are they waiting for the esitimated ship date to box it up?

ahhhhhhh :|

Sorry my fault, I borrowed the boxes for a move. I didn't realize they needed all 500 today. Frank, who works on the docks said they should be getting some more tomorrow afternoon.

DAMN YOU what the hell are you moving that you need 500 laptop boxes? 😕

Same with mine. I suspect it's still building and the "boxing" thing is a sham. Take a look at your expected ship date and tell us how it takes 7 days to "box" a system. 😛 They did have 10K orders along with their normal daily volume 😛

Just to curtail further whining, boxing time for dell includes the time it takes for the system to get from the manufacturer in asia to distro center in texas.

Ross may or may not be disappointed, he'll probably tell you how you should have gotten 512 to start with and an 80GB hard drive for the same price. 😛

Eww, the 600M. I'm disappointed in you TM. The 600m was the oldest laptop out of the bunch. It can be hit or miss - we have a couple here at work that are great, but a lot of people dislike them for various reasons.

Supported them for our sales people and I really liked them.

it's light and powerful and really we had no issues.

also it has a serial port which I need.

The company I recently left had over 200 in the field and they saw no major issues with them other than outside folks dropping them and such.
