Basically i have a dr appointment today for being sick and also want to express my concern about extreme fatigue, bad concentration etc. I really would like to be put on adderal as i feel it would help me tremendously with getting things done and make me more focused.

How long does it take to diagnose and get me a prescription?

I have an appointment at 4 and could he put me on it today?

Just asking for reference

............ most doctors can see thru drug-seekers. I think you might have more luck at a dealer.

They are just ignorant. Adderall will make you much more productive you're doing the right thing. As soon as the prescription is made you can have it filled.

lol, ignorant would be saying he's "doing the right thing" without any knowledge of his condition, medical history, intent of use/abuse. you seem eager to dope the kid up.

hell, don't get me wrong - i've pulled more than a few all-nighters while in college with the aid of 20-60mg of add xr, popped and snorted; but i would never, ever consider making dosing a daily regimen. having to rely on a mix of amphetamines to function at an artificially induced, abnormal state, just isn't my thing.

three guesses:
1) OP learned, from peers, that adderall is a profitable biz, selling pills for anywhere from $5-20 means very decent revenue when insurance + minor deductible means he's paying less than a dime for each.

2) OP's schoolwork/work is suffering from his simple lack of attention, discipline, motivation, ambition - can't find a workable catalyst through normal means, and believes that adderall is the golden key, per se, to those traits and subsequent succes.

3) OP's mental state is completely out of whack, chemical imbalances, frame of mind/reference, etc etc. In which case, adderall may be a viable resort. But to confuse ubiquitous personality traits like distractedness, being prone to boredom, etc as a medical condition that requires drug treatment = aforementioned ignorance

Selling a pill of adderall of $20? That's one desparate dude paying $20 for that.

Or perhaps some Focusin? :p

Not to make of light of a possible medical condition, but to go into a doctor's appointment seeking one thing without mentioning proof of medical investigation seems irresponsible. Just because it worked for your brother does not mean it will work for you.

Good luck with your appointment though.

and the climax comes when he gets on adderall and still doesn't get straight A's.

As others have said, you could technically be put on the medication today if your physician prescribes it accordingly. However, if you think you might have attention/concentration issues, I'd definitely recommend being tested by a qualified professional (psychologist or psychiatrist, depending on your preference).
