How long does it take for someone to starve to death?

I remember reading somewhere that you can go 3-4 weeks without food. But that's irrelevant, like others have said, because lack of water will kill you within a week.

depends on the individual. I think will to live can help prolong life but fat reserves can also definately help.

Bobby Sands of Ireland lasted 66 days on his hunger strike in 1981. He had water, and vitamins but no food. And he was rather thin when he started.
