How long does it take for a post office money order to clear in your bank account?

Looking to do a trade with someone on another forum, and they were trying to tell me money orders take 10 days to clear. Just wondering

Also if i purchase something with a money order from the PO and ship throug USPS Priority mail, is it mail fraud if i get ripped off?

It does not depend on the type of payment as much as it does the banks it must go through.

It's more like a 10 business day MAX in most cases, but it can happen in as few as like, 3 days.

If for some strange reason, you used the bank that the MO came from, it could probably clear in only a day or two. Well, more like "possibly" than "probably"

The guy I'm dealing with wanted a check or money order from bank of america so it would clear right away.

If he banks with Bank of America, I'm guessing that it should clear in ~2 business days.
