How long does it normally take HR to call you after you have submitted a resume online?

Totally depends on the company, position, your ability to meet qualifications.

Just call the damn company and express your interest. If you continue to go through life waiting on calls and asking these stupid questions, you'll never land a job.

Usually never. I submitted a resume to my current company through the website and never got a reply. 3 months later I found out the HR person's direct email address and emailed resume directly and got a call same day.

Sometimes never. If they don't respond, screw'em. And that calling them up and stuff is a bunch of bull. There is never anyone listed as a contact.

What if I don't have an HR number to call? What should be said if I can get in touch with someone from HR? Just let them know that I'm very interested in the position?

Tell them you had sent your resume in and were checking on the status of your submission. Do a little research and find out about the company and HR contacts.

Find SOMEONE's email address in that company and try to get the HR person's DIRECT email address.
