Got a letter from the landlord today that our apartment building is being turned into condos...anyone know how long this process normally takes? Im hoping not within 8 months, but dont know... Right now we are on a month to month lease and just got our rent increased $50 a month, now this

I was thinking about moving out next July, since I am in school right now and its a pain to move during the middle of classes.

anyone have experiance with this before?

I've done appraisals on quite a few condo conversions. Typically they are done in phases.
Phases can take anywhere from a few months to years.

I wouldn't bet on the conversion being done within a year.

so when would they get rid of the current tenants? i assume i have no rights about length of time not being on a long term lease.

i cant imagine this place being sold as is, they would probably need to do renovations also
