Anyone else read the title as humans?

I've been watching too much CSI I guess.

    This.

We had a thing of hummus in the fridge for a while and it did have an "expiration date" on it, but we continued eating it for a while afterwards and it was fine.

If you've already opened it I'd say you have up to a year... maybe 18 months. Unopened, think Twinkie... probably keeps forever. And don't worry... it's supposed to smell that way. No worries.

dude, it's beans and oil. Keep it cold and it'll last quite a while.

In my experience it doesn't last more than a couple weeks once opened... it tends to get moldy.

Here is how I figure it out.

Find out when it was made, and how many days it was from then to now. Take that number and its good for negative that many days.

This is a good question and even better since I just bought Jalapeno Hummas from costco which is green - how will I be able to see the mold?
