I just bought it like 3-4 months ago. Ideas ?? Thanks and appreciate. I thought it was 1 year... and Retail was like 3 years isn't that about right ?

oem is usually 30 days
retail is 3 yrs.
Some retailers will give you a year on oem if you purchase a HSF from them at the time of purchase.

Retail box processors have a 3 year END USER warranty.

OEM processors have a 1 year warranty for the COMPANY WHO BUYS THEM IN BULK FROM INTEL/AMD.

Since AMD/Intel won't deal with end-users on a non-retail-boxed processor, your only recourse is through the vendor you bought the thing from. That vendor probably bought it in small quantities from a distributor who buys in large quantities as overstock from PC manufacturers (who buy in huge quantities to get lower pricing, then sell off excess on the grey market).

The only warranty that you have on an OEM processor is from the place you got it from. As was said, that can range from 15-days up to a year depending on where you got it. MWave is 1 year. Some places will give you a year if you buy a HSF with it. Most places are 30-days or less.
