How long does alcohol last for?

With poll in case you feel like guessing. Seriously, have some probably 10yo stuff because I'm a geek and bought it a long time ago and never opened it.

Some 10 year old what? It depends. Most unopened things get better (up to a certain point, which 10 years usually isn't that point) with time, like Scotch, rum, wine, etc.

Rum, Vodka, Tequila, Kalua(sic), etc...

1 Guy at the Liquor store told me 1yr or so, another told me probably forever (years and years) so figured I'd ask here.

Tequila, vodka, and rum should last a very, very long time. Most champagne is only 2-3 years, wine obviously may improve with age but it depends on the quality. Others may spoil.

I was always under the impression that hard liquor (vodka, etc) could last nearly forever.

Isn't the minimum 'sellable' age for a bottle of cognac something like 25 or 30 years? That's why it's so expensive.

For anything 80 proof or better, effectively forever, AFAIK.
