how long does 1 ounce of cologne last?

looking at different cologes, they seem to sell from 1oz, 1.7oz, and 3.4oz. I wear it maybe once a week...how long would a 1oz bottle go for? I think I'd rather get small bottles and then try different kinds when it runs out...

i have a bottle of stink juice that my wife gave me either right before or right after we got married in 1988, it still has about 10% left in it. i am very sure i will have it used up before out 20th wedding anniversary.

I know right? that's what inspired this thread. my girl likes acqua di gio, which I've never tried before. only cologne I own is some stuff given to me by my brother. acqua di gio = $47 for a 1.7oz bottle. the smallest thing I can think of to compare it with is a 20oz Sprite bottle 1.7oz seems like nothing. that stuff had better be liquid gold...

I think most are way too strong. I water down my aqua velva and it has lasted me 3 years so far. I think I average about once a week too.

Cologne is to be used sparringly. Spray once into the air, while shirtless and walk through the cloud. You could also spray a small amount on your wrists, rub it on your other wrist and behind your neck.

A bottle won't last forever and will eventually lose its potency. Keep it out of direct sunlight.

That's a good appliciation method. You could also just spray it once on your fingertips then dab it once behind each ear and on your neck. Rub any extra onto your wrists. Done properly, the only person smelling your cologne will be the girl leaning into your ear to tell you something.... and she'll love you for it.

Buy the 1oz bottle of something, try it out, and then experiment. Find a favorite to use the most but have a few others to keep in the rotation as well.

As for you naysayers: You're either putting way too much on, already have a girlfriend/wife you longer feel the need to impress (and I find that sad), or simply don't care that woman love cologne. In any case, you're wrong. :evil:

Ya, I got a 3.4 fl oz one, and a 1.7 oz one and both look as though barely any is missing, and that there will be enough for a long time

im about 1/2 way through a 1.7 oz bottle of Echo in about a year (frat parties, and wearing it with my gf, take a lot of it) and a 4.2 oz bottle of Cool Water that maybe has 1/8th of it gone.
