How long do your tires last?

How long do they last?
What brand?
How much were they?

Seems like I have to buy new tires way more than I should. Of course, I tend to buy about $70 tires too.

How is your alignment and driving style?

My wife's Volvo S40 got around 30 or 40 thousand miles out of the original Michelins. They were nearly $200 per tire to replace so instead I went with BFGoodrich that seem to be lasting about as long but for about $100 per tire.

The last two sets of tires that I purchased were the cheapest name-brand tires that I could get....

As it turned out, they were both Bridgestones... One set was the Bridgestone HP50 for my Sebring convertible, and they seem to have great traction, although they are noisy and they look like they will last about 60,000 miles. These were about $86 per tire I think.

The other set were Bridgestone Dueller AP's for my Dodge Dakota 4x4, and they lasts 72,000 hard miles (lots of towing, lots of landscaping work (driving through yards, driving through the crap at the dump, lots of heavy hauling). They were really good tires. (I don't remember the cost.)

I have always had good luck with Bridgestones as well, but it definitely depends on the type of tire. Sticky tires for my 951 can't be expected to last that long, but the passenger car touring tires on my Volvo should last 60,000 miles or more.

My OEM contis would have lasted under 10,000 miles had I not ditched them, yet they offered poor grip, IMHO. I expect close to 20,000 out of my Generals.

I had some Toyo Proxes RA-1s that lasted under 6,000 miles. A GREAT 6,000 miles though 😉

My OEM Bridgestone Potenza RE92's were replaced at 38,000 miles with about 35% tread left.

These tires are terrible in every way but they did last a good while.

Right now I'm running Continental Contisport 3's, I don't expect them to last more than ~15,000.

Stock Hankook LRR 15" on my Focus lasted about 4k miles on the front.

Replaced with Falken Ziex, THESE ARE A BILLION TIMES BETTER.

Probably going to get about 60K out of my Sumitomos on the Maxima.

I could expect 75-80K out of the Michelins on my Xterra....if I didn't take it offroading.

I've got about 45k on the cheap Generals that came with my Silverado, I'm sure I can squeeze out another 5k.

Yoko AVS ES100's about 11k $60 a piece

Goodyear GS-D3's about 10k $130 a piece on sale.

Running Goodyear Asymetrics now. $175 a piece

Crappy BFG KDWS's lasted about 26k miles. Granted they were on the back of a GTO that saw some track time. I wouldn't recommend that tire to anyone looking for an all season tire.

Now I've got Nitto NT555's on all four corners... we'll see how it goes.

I will probably get 60K on my crappy Federal tires that came with the car. 51K now and starting to get close to worn. I'll need to replace them before winter for sure.

About 30 - 40K on Pirellis on my Grand Prix ... but they do wear faster on a front drive car on the front wheels.
The rears have only slight wear in the same time frame. I also like to corner quickly, when conditions permit it.

i've put down 45k on my yokohama avids on the maxima and should have maybe 10-25k more to go. threadlife i think was rated at AAA. but i have less grip then i would like now. when i turn and get on it outer tires always breaks loose. i picked up my tires with 5k miles on it for $100 for all 4.

gf picked up BFG traction TA for $350 installed, 8k miles on them and they ride GREAT so far, i do expect to see 30-55k life out of them as well.

Umm KDW's are summer tires so I hope you wouldn't recommend them for anyone looking for an all-season tire.

What are you trying to accomplish is this thread, pontifex? Are you looking for recommendations? My telling you that I paid $185 a tire for my Michellin Pilot Sport A/S, really aren't going to help you, if you drive a Prius. I expect to get about 30k miles out of them though.😛

About 5-10k on a RWD car.

On my truck dpeending on how often it sees the rocks it can touch 40k but that is nothing I want to take offroad. After about 10-20k off roading sucks.

My dad got close to 70K on some Dunlop tires. I forget which ones, I have the same type just different size on my car (I have about 6K on them) but I'm too lazy to go out and check what they are 😛 I'm expecting about 60K from them.
