How long do you think this computer will last me for gaming purposes?

Should be good for most games right now, though the first thing you'll have to deal with is a video card upgrade, probably in 9-18 months depending on what you're playing.
Did you read the OP? he plays at 1280x1024, his whole setup will last him a long time.

Resolution = 1280x1024 most of the time. I don't go too high. I was just looking for general answers, don't need a very detailed analysis. I do understand where you're coming from though when saying it's almost impossible to tell

at 1280x1024, with your specs, you can play crisis 2 at high detail, this will last you atleaset another 5-8 years only if u r playing at 1280x1024

I'd feel the need to get a monitor upgrade now.

I think the answer depends on when the next generation of consoles come out, and how powerful they are.

Like others have said, if you haven't bought it yet, get a 2500k or 2600k.

Why anyone would spend that on a PC and then play at such a terrible resolution is beyond me. That should be a crime.

Kinda reminds me of the people that spend a fortune on video cards and cpu's etc and run it off some vanilla HDD rather than a SSD.
