Seriously do this country a favor and kill yourselves. You're dead weight.

Stealing what?

Also, I don't know if it makes a difference to you, but I'm pretty sure he's in Canada.

When you accept a job, whether you sign anything or not, you are forming a contract in which you exchange your work for money. When you stop working and keep taking the money... I don't know. What do you call it?

Cheezy, as odd as this may sound to you, I am on vacation. So what if I am taking it in my home town, and spending a good deal of it in my office. I am also my own boss, so if I slack off, I am stealing from no one but me.

This isn't a case of slacking off though. This is a case of a degenerate, irresponsible, immoral asshole taking complete advantage of his work situation, and coming here to brag about it. If this guy worked for me, he have fun collecting his last pay check.

n/m, referring to the OP. Can't defend yah too much there lol

Some people just know how to make an art out of doing nothing. Take this for an example...

We have a manufacturer service rep in our office who's only job is to fix broken servers. He works about 45 hours a week, and out of that he might spend 6 hours a week actually fixing broken servers. The rest of the time he spends sitting in the operations center watching TV, talking to people, and ordering lunch for everyone. Hey, at least he's useful for something :) From what I've heard, he gets a great salary, company car, full benefits package, and two weeks of company training in Florida or California. All that just for watching TV most of the time.

When asked about his workload, he says "Hey... they don't pay me for what I do, they pay me for what I know HOW to do when things break". Honestly, the servers don't look much more complicated than a normal PC, but I guess that the manufacturer will void their warranty if one of the regular IT guys work on it and screw something up. He's been there for years, and probably will be there until their contract ends.

What can I say... nice work if you can get it!

I've got a report I've gotta write that's supposed to be sent off to an insurance company tomorrow (I've had 2 weeks to write it), that I haven't started yet and will take at least another week to finish, if I started this week, which I won't.

But I'm glad the chance to flame me didn't prevent you from checking your facts first. Thank you for the semi-retraction.

Well, in reference to me, no work given = no work done.

In reference to the OP, I can't say anything ;)

Sounds more like breach of contract than stealing to me :p
It's all semantics, but meh, what is the internet for if not having pointless arguments with strangers over inconsequential things?

No, they never thought of this as OCR programs were sort of new and not well received. Anyway, after having all this inforamtion in the computer, finding all the technical references took about an hour. The time limit on the job was listed: Until done. Well, what should I have done? Billed them 6 hours of actual time spent? Or estimated how much time it would have taken me had I done it their way, page by page. Well, to avoid getting flames, I won't divurge how much time I actually billed, but it was two of the best years I have ever had.

The kicker?! Because I did such a thorough job the first time, they hired me again to re-research the same documents looking now for other references. LOL

NICE.

S/he claims to be an alias for a long time member. I guess some people see posting here like leveling up in WoW.

i have friends working for the gov.

one guy does nothing... literally nothing. buuuut he's better than most he works with. the guy that sits beside him comes in every morning and turns on his computer. he has the pw that keeps the blank screensaver from coming on, so he just goes home. my boy says the boss walks by all the time and actually says "damn, where's jim? well he must be here, his computer is on".

another guy he works with got caught looking at porn. they took his computer away for an entire year. he sat at his desk and did nothing for an entire year. the guy then got caught looking at porn on other people's computers. he'd jump on their computer when he saw them leave for work. like 10 different people were busted for looking at porn within a couple weeks, and he got caught. HE STILL WORKS THERE TO THIS DAY.

This is America! This is also how most of the people I know got promotions and raises at their jobs!!! :)

Yes, let's remember that most people in this country basically do nothing and still get the paycheck. They're all trying to figure out how to get around working at work....

12 months and counting. I think you are fine.

.... see what I mean?

I took a poll of my friends and I figured out that most people only work 4 to 6 hours out of an 8 hour work day. When I first started working, I would work well in excess of the 8 hours (from 8 to 10 hours per day), but now it's more like 7 to 7.5 hours. (I think it's declining, but I haven't measured it lately.)

Oh well, it pays the bills and keeps me from sitting at home bored :)

At least your in the 4 to 6 hour range that I calculated :) I think that's ?acceptable?.

Welcome to America! Our country was founded on doing little while appearing to do much and this mentality is rampant in our society today.

You were telling us just a couple days ago how no one ever does anything knowingly wrong, when you defended that father killing three kids.

Right?

EDIT: You weren't directly defending him.
But spouting crap nonetheless.
