so people out there-
how long do you leave your computer (HOME/ PERSONAL- not work) online for? i've got AIM running, i can't manage more than like 5 or 6 days before something starts goign screwey. what about y'all!
my cable modem isp isnt reliable enough to stay on for more than 2 days at a time before i get kicked off .. however my computer at work hasnt had to be restarted or go offline in over a month. I guess its becuase i'm running win2k and its just more stable.
average uptime is like 1-2 weeks, it would be MUCH longer but something always comes up (new software, power going out, having to move the computer...)
My normal monthly connection time is 600-700hrs per Verizon since my DSL line is connected 24/7. As for my computer uptime I made it 15days at one point with Win2K.
i'v had windows ME running for a week, but i normally turn it of every night durring the summer because it gets to hot in my room with it on, oh yeah, and there is an energy "problem" for us californians
Work PC runs for weeks on end before a reboot.
Home pc from when I wake up till I go to sleep. As for the isp, they are usually reliable, though wierd thing is, when I pcanywhere from my work pc to my home pc after anywhere from a few minutes to an hour the cable modem will just die for a moment killing all the connections on my home pc as well as the pcanywhere. Anyone else ever have this happen?
