How long do ears ring after going to a club?

It's been about 20 hours now and I still have a ringing in the left ear. Is it suppose to last this long?

Stupid drummer was right next to my ear.

um, you do realize the ringing is caused by the destruction of cochlear hair = hearing loss. right?

If you have ringing in your ears, the music was too loud. Very poor house mixing.

hope you got a good supply of hearing aid batteries. constant damage will eventually kill hearing. not good to do on weekly basis.

What if your ear only rings once in awhile, like for 20 seconds out of 2 or 3 weeks? My ear has done that for years since I had a firecracker go off right next it.

I don't go that often, maybe once every couple months, but this time it seems to be lingering...

I think the stupid person is the guy who stood there and didn't move.

meh, you would have definitely lost something there, although I highly doubt you would have noticed it. The ringing is most likely associated with a very mild case of tinnitus, but nothing for you to worry about. However, there are tons of factors that can bring about temporary cases such as stress and various dental problems. If you have a constant ring or something daily, I'd get it looked at

Any ringing is a sign of hearing damage, the longer the ringing, the worse. The worst time I ever had was like 3 days on my left ear, I'm pretty sure that ear is damaged now. Hearing damage is cumulative and irreversible, bring ear plugs when you expect it to be loud. If it's loud and you have no plugs, just leave as soon as you can. No event is worth a lifetime of hearing damage.

No kidding. I'm a drummer and I suffer from some level of hearing loss. If someone's going to stand right next to my kit, they're either a fellow drummer or a fellow dipsh|t. Either way, it's just going to make me play harder.

"This damn drummer is so loud. What is he doing? Banging on those things as hard as he can? Why does that bastard have to be on the stage beside me?"

Yeah - usually I'm pretty sensetive and if it hurts my ears I move, but it didn't hurt while I was there, and now the day after the ringing happens.

Ear plugs if I every go again.

A while :(

Maybe 48 hours? That's if I forget to bring earplugs which I think are a good idea for clubs.

My ears don't ring because I always have ear-plugs with me. I've played in bands, recorded many bands, and seen many live concerts and I always have ear-plugs. Hearing loss FTL!
