How long do cicadas stick around?

They've been driving me crazy for the better part of the last two weeks. They're loud, they don't care to fly right at you, and they make it impossible to enjoy the outdoors since my property is covered in trees in the front and back.

How long after their "rising" until these fuckers leave and/or die off, anybody know?

I I thought they were only out for a few weeks, so maybe you're close to the end. I live in Brood X territory, and last time they were out it sounded like an airport at my parents' house (rural area).
