How long did it take you to finish community college?

I wanted to get my grades up before I went to a real university, so I've been attending community college for a year. However, only three of the twelve classes I need to graduate were offered this semester (non-overlapping and fitting with my schedule). That leaves nine classes to take in the Spring of 2005, if they offer all of them, which they most likely won't. So it will be another three to four semesters before I graduate and get my Associate's degree.

What's the deal with that? I really want to establish a good track record before I go to a university, mostly so that I can get accepted easier, but another two years after already taking a year seems like a long time. By the way, I'm majoring in Computer Engineering Technology at the local school.

Yeah, I want to go after my Master's degree eventually, but I still have to take my SATs and I want to get an Associate's degree first. I hope that most of my credits will transfer over!

i understand some ppl can only afford CC and its a great for transfering into other schools. lots of my friends do it.

nothing wrong with going to a CC first. it's cheaper!
but don't spend more than 2 yrs (4 semesters) there.

I went to a community college for two years. Good teachers there and it was much more personal than a university setting. Saved some money for sure too, though I should've only stayed a year because it'll take me five years to get a bachelor's in Computer Science.

took my first CC class in 1989...finally got an Associates in 2002...I would take a couple of classes every other year, so I only lost 3 credit hours during that whole time...

check and see what will transfer because it might be pointless to finish and then have to retake classes that dont transfer
