15 Feet is the Standard Max.

Explain what you actually need?

Use a wireless bridge & print server. Or just run CAT5 over to there, then use a print server to connect it. Far more useful for sharing too.

Yup, USB repeater, wired or wireless, is the cost-effective way to go...

Wouldn't moving the printer closer be the most cost effective solution? :p

Well, if the OP wanted to have the printer closer, we wouldn't be having this thread...

It would be much easier and more cost effective to MOVE THE PRINTER CLOSER TO YOUR PC!. A cable long enough is going to cost as much as a printer. Network the printer, like as has already been suggested, if you insist on keeping it two floors down on the other side of the house(kidding). It would still be cheaper to buy a new printer and park it closer to you PC, then you can have the printer you got just for show.

As noted, the USB spec says 15 feet max unless you have a hub or repeater or active cable in between. I've seen an HP printer fail even with 20 ft. of USB cable.
