I have some pathmark eggs that say 'exp Feb 26th' are they still edible? They also say keep refrigerated by i've often kept them out in the open and they were fine.

Any ideas?

No, it's just that i buy a dozen eggs but i can't eat them all in time and i don't want to waste them. And they dont' come in packages of 6.

Generally about a month. Is that date a "sell by" date? If so you should still be fine.

it's quote 'exp Feb. 26th', is that sell by or expiration date? I bought them on like Feb 18th

I see you live in brooklyn. Every corner store in nyc sells eggs in 6 packs.

refrigerate things that tell you to, and dont eat things after the expiration date. i dont think thats hard to figure out. sometimes something may be good a day or two after the expiration date...but why push your luck? you obviously will need all you can get

exp is expired last time i heard...the eggs are a couple weeks past safe to eat. seriously, dont go outside again til you get a clue. eggs are cheap, just buy more and eat them all next time.

I saw an interview with the head of the fda once where she said as long as they're refridgerated, she would still eat eggs a *year* later.

officially the fda says 4-5 weeks in the fridge.

see here also for more about eggs than you wanted to know...
