How long can DF run without being on-line?

Excellent question for laptop users. I'm setting up a Dell C600 right now. Would be a lot easier if I could find a DOS driver for a "3Com 10/100 Mini PCI Ethernet Adapter" so I could boot and ghost it from the network! :|

I dont really understand Robor's reply but Ive found that the DF client can run as long as u want it to without a network connection. You just have to make sure that you choose large buffers (or is it choose not small buffers).... If you do this it wont stop until u stop it (as far as I have been able to tell). I have a client thats been running and last time I checked it had 30000 structures buffered but I havent checked on it since and I cant for another 6 hours so hopefully it will keep going beyond that.

I was talking about DOS drivers for the internal NIC on a Dell C600 Laptop so I can boot it and log into the network where I'll grab an image and reload it. I found them on the Dell Resource CD but my Ghost network boot disk is still giving me errors. 😕

Yeah, I know, I could probably setup Win2K from scratch faster but then I wouldn't learn anything. 😉

I believe, that because of this comment, he thought that he would share, with us all, that he is trying to set up a laptop, so, in theory, he is, in fact, staying on subject, and not, in fact, just needlessly neffing.

RTFM. 🙂
Just add -df to the script, and it should keep on running.

So the answer is, to next target protein is released. 🙂
