How long can butter last in the fridge?

I have a stick of butter that expired in oct. left in my fridge. It still looks and tastes fine (just had some on my waffles) so I'm just wondering how long it'll actually last.
 
Things always last longer than their exp. dates...I personally use that I can't believe crap, I've left it in there for 6 months at a time and it's been fine.
 
If you freeze it, it could last quite a while. If you leave it on the door of your fridge, it would be less then perfect in a month.
