How long can a USB 2.0 cable be ?

I'm thinkin about gettting this 7 port USB hub http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16817803024 .I want to run an external DVD burner,external memory card reader,mouse,and keyboard off of it.I would need a USB cable in the 30-40 ft range.

Is that too far of a run for a USB 2.0 cable ?

limits much shorter than that, i don't remember exactly but its probably a meter or two at most.
maybe if you had a bunch of powered hubs....
why is the hub so far away anyways? just keep all that stuff at the pc

I want to keep my main computer with all my other A/V equipment hooked up to my reciever so I can get 7.1 analog audio for DVD-Auidio,HD-DVD,EAX in games.My desk is on the other side of the room about 25ft away.

I was hoping i could just run a couple external devices so i wouldnt have to get up to change disks and stuff.But it looks like that plan has been foiled
