How long can a guinea pig survive without food?

My friend hasnt been picking up her phone all day long and I was supposed to drop my guinea pig off at her place.

I'm going snowboarding tonight and I'm returning Sunday evening.

My guinea pig is now munching on some lettuce after I fed him hay a few hours ago.

My goal is to get him full now so that I can just leave extra food around when I in a few minutes.

I plan on filling his bowl till it overflows, giving him 2/3 of a romaine lettuce heart and a huge handful of hay.... I'm guessing he'll finish it all by tomorrow afternoon.... :(.

My roommate isnt picking up either as she usually sleeps at her BF's place, so she's never home. And it's spring break, so she should probably be gone home anytime now... bleh

Just buy another identical-looking guineau pig and throw it in there too. If one dies, the other one can eat it (and therefore the evidence). If they both live, tell her it was a present!

If he has food to last until mid-afternoon tomorrow I'd say he'll be fine till you get home Sunday night.

With water he'll be fine without any food (or even a full stomach when you leave).

Just remember, you smack a tree and the guinea pig dies too. Give your neighbor a key and a 6-pack.

It's his guinea pig.

I say throw in extra food, and you'll be ok. Unless guinea pigs are the type to eat and eat and eat and not really pay attention to whether they are full or not.

Back in 4th grade we had one of those things in our classroom. It would make funny noises, and it would get louder if everyone was quiet, such as if we were taking a test. It used to crack us up.

Guinea pigs FTW

as long as it doesn't run out of water it will be fine, we had to leave ours for two days one time, it was fine. but squealed like a maniac when we came home, had to give it extra munchies

This is a good point ... be sure to arrange emergency backup.
