how long can a cigar be out of a humidor?

A friend of mine's 18th birthday is this weekend so tomorrow I'm going to pick up a few Romeo y Julietas or Montecristos for us to smoke this weekend. I don't know a whole lot about storing cigars, when I buy them I usually smoke them that evening. is it okay to keep a cigar out of a humidor for a few days?

You will be fine, a few days is nothing. If you're ultra worried about it (which I wouldn't be for a Romeo & Julietta) put it in a tupperware with a (clean) moistened sponge (not touching the cigar) and keep in an area around 70 degrees.

If you can, pick yourself up a Helix, they are a very wonderful, mild, yet almost bold cigar. Very good

i'll check them out. the nearest tobacco store is about 55 miles away, so I like to pick up everything I'll need in the next month or so while I'm there 😉

Not true. A cigar in a very dry environment will dry out very quickly. Arizona, Nevada, SoCal desert areas are all very dry most of the time and you can ruin a good cigar in a day easily.

Depends entirely on the environment.

It's so dry right now, here in tucson, you can watch paint dry, and not be bored.

what about in indiana? the temperatures right now range from 30s at night to 50-60s during the day, but it's rained all day today and its supposed to rain pretty much constantly from now until monday. weather.com says the humidity is around 78%, do you think it will dry out?
