How long can a can of soda stay in the freezer?

In my apartment, we rarely have space in the refrigerator so I don't keep cans cold in there usually. This means that when I think of eating, I throw a can into the freezer. I have been waiting about 30 minutes in the freezer before taking it out but I bet I could wait longer without it exploding. Does anyone know how long it takes until it explodes?

Put it in the microwave for 30 seconds instead. Much more fun that way.

No matter what setting the freezer is on, cans don't explode until after 47 minutes.
