How long before you can quit?

How long is it recommended to stay at a job before you can quit and still put it in a resume? Is it 6 months or 1 year?

1 day. You can put it on a resume no matter how long you worked there. But if it is short, you better be prepared to explain why.

I mean if it's not a contract job... what's the respectable length? Someone told me but I forgot whether it was 1 year or 6 months...

I'd think anything less than a year would require an explanation..

I would tend to agree. Employers hate to see people who change jobs every 6 months.
