How long before I get the flu/find out I won't get it?

Well if you feel sick, thats a good indication that you have gotten it.

If you dont feel sick, you might have it but your body's defense system is protecting you.

Needless to say, use logic.
 
You might get it at any time, even after his symptoms are gone. Give him a snorkel and put him in a tub of hydrogen peroxide.

Then put $20 worth of pennies in it.
 
Deadman walking! seriouslt though for your sake I hope you don't get it, I had the flu about twelve years ago, man was that a bummer. put a necklace of garlic around your neck.
 
To answer your question: it is hard to say if or when you will come down with the flu. Depends on how healthy you are, the infection's incubation period, and how good you are at hygiene.

Good hygiene:
Wash your hands regularly with soap and hot water.
Keep your hands away from your eyes and mouth.
Do not put foreign objects, for example pens, in your mouth.
Use some sort of disinfectant to wipe down common use areas, phone kitchen, etc that you have with him.
 
It can take 7 days or so after being infected before symptoms appear. You're not out of the woods yet.
