How long before calling back after an interview?

I had an interview last Friday. The guy said they'd decide right away and I'd hear back from him the next week. On Monday, he asked if I could do a phone interview with one more person who was supposed to talk to me on Friday but wasn't available. So I talked to him on Monday.
So now this week is 4/5ths over and I haven't back yet.

Would it be rude or pushy for me to send him a quick email saying I just wanted to check in and see where they were on making a decision?

I don't want to be irritating, but I'm also anxious to hear something.

do it tomorrow just after lunch

if they like you, they'll get back with you before the weekend, at least telling you to wait of whatever

if they don't like you, they'll ignore you until monday or later

~ So how long do I wait to call?
~ A day.
~ Tomorrow.
~ Tomorrow, then a day.
~ Yeah.
~ So two days?
~ Yeah, I guess you could call it that, two days.
~ Definitely, two days is like industry standard.
~ You know I used to wait two days to call anybody, but now it's like everyone in town waits two days. So I think three days is kind of money. What do you think?
~ Yeah, but two's enough not to look anxious.
~ But I think three days is kind of money. You know because you...
~ Yeah, but you know what, maybe I'll wait 3 weeks. How's that? And tell her I was cleaning out my wallet and I just happened to run into her number.
~ Then ask her where you met her.
~ Yeah, I'll ask her where I met her. I don't remember. What does she look like? And then I'll asked if we fvcked. Is that... would that be... T, would that be the money?
