So I have a friend that goes to a private religious college that requires everyone to go to chapel every day....(i know...i know...) Anyway, he works in the cafeteria, and his work shift causes him to miss chapel. Everytime he misses, he has to submit an excuse through a website, which is then approved by one of the deans of students.
He missed work one day, and still submitted an excuse for missing chapel... the dean compared his timecard with the excuse, and he's now in trouble for lying to a university official.
How legal is this? He does work for the university, so can anybody just check his time card? To me this reeks of violating privacy laws....
