How late is too late to call back a recruiter who left a vm?

for a job opening that you applied to a while back.

Let's say you got a call around 11AM on a certain day.... after how many days would it be considered too late to return the call?

5 - 10 minutes. After that they will hate you for life and do everything in their power to prevent you from ever finding another job.

Anything longer than a few days looks bad. Longer than a week is pushing it.

depends if you want the job they have. they're always looking for more people so it doesn't matter when you call back unless you are looking for a specific job they have

It's never too late. If you don't make the call, you won't get the job, whereas if you make the call late you might still have a chance if they haven't filled the position yet. At worst, you'll get no answer or you will be told that the position has been filled.
